Event Overview
This weekend, I had the privilege of showcasing Paolo Pareti's and my GenAI Slideshow Karaoke, "I Can't Sing. You Can't Draw" at the Scottish AI Alliance's AI Art Exhibition "AI Can't Write Symphonies and Neither Can You".
The experience was a beautiful brand on my soul. From the first creaks on The Boardwalk to the descent into those caves of filtered reality – like Aristotelian Plato's caves projecting within outwards – we witnessed intent fused with cultivation of meaning, as GenAI made first steps into artistic expression more accessible and less discouraging for all.

An innovative GenAI Slideshow Karaoke experience that generates live visuals responding to karaoke singing, creating a unique fusion of human performance and AI-generated art.
The Experience
It was a space where entrepreneurial spirit lived healthily alongside creative intent, where art and the revolution of agency met, and where everyone who joined – artists, technologists, dancers, dreamers – helped populate it with their meanings, their stories, and their joy.
Gordon Johnstone and his team's excellent organisation made it possible, and the beautiful people who came, sang, created, and danced turned it into something profound.
Impact and Significance
This exhibition represented a pivotal moment in the intersection of AI and artistic expression. It demonstrated how generative AI can make artistic expression more accessible and less intimidating for people of all backgrounds and skill levels.
